The Roundup with Jeff Stockton (Season 19 Round 6)

Despite the success of Klondike, the studio continues its box office cold streak. Here's The Roundup....

3. Vincent Gallo
I've always been a fan of Vincent Gallo's work (especially his film Buffalo '66 and his role in Francis Ford Coppola's Tetro), so it was nice to see him finally make it onto the LRF big screen - even if I didn't love the film.

2. Taylor Kitsch
While I didn't love Floyd Monroe (more on that below), Taylor Kitsch clearly did everything he could to make the film and title character work on the big screen. His performance definitely worked better than the film did as a whole.

1. Klondike
I really enjoyed Klondike. The casting of the three leads was spot-on. The filmmakers managed to make all three characters incredibly likable, even if the outcome of the love triangle felt inevitable. I expect to see the word Klondike a lot come GRA season.

3. Liam Hemsworth
I think it's officially safe to say that Liam Hemsworth is box office poison now. That con is certainly more than any pro (if any) he can bring to a project. Casting agents beware!

2. Floyd Monroe
The film is not a bad film, let me say that now. The plotting works and it moves at a good pace. However, the overall tone of the film felt off to me. Parts are far to jokey for a film with pretty serious subject matter, and the supporting characters felt a bit too cartoonish.

1. Box Office
This season started off very strongly on the box office front, but the last few rounds have been pretty rough. We still a Superman film and a mystery Marvel Universe film, so the studio should be fine financially by the end of the season, but things are definitely cold right now.
