The good times came to an end this round with the studio losing money. Here's The Roundup....
3. Production Design
It already looks like this season is going to be very competitive in the Best Production Design GRA category - and we still have over 20 films left.
2. Emile Hirsch
Emile Hirsch appears to slowly but surely be on the comeback trail. His performance was easily the best part of Chris, Travis & Juliet even if the script sends his character off the deep end with little warning.
1. Hillside
While no masterpiece, Hillside was an entertaining drama with a couple of solid lead performances. There isn't much story going on until later in the film, but the climax delivers.
3. Still Lives
Still Lives isn't terrible, but it's lacking in thrills and goes on far too long with way too many asides and side-tangents. If it had focused more on its central premise it could have been a solid film.
2. Chris, Travis & Juliet
While the film started off decent enough, it completely fell apart for me around the midpoint. All of a sudden there's an affair, and Chris somehow went from a struggling poet to a successful filmmaker in the blink of an eye. We of course never saw anything of the work that would require - the "story" simply tells it happened.
1. Box Office
After a strong start to the season, Round 3 ended up being a really rocky one - losing roughly $30 million for the studio.
