Resume: Casey Affleck

Casey Affleck made a strong debut back in Season 6 for Last Resort Films and has been a fairly steady presence ever since. With a new starring (and directorial) role due out this round in the form of For Those Who Don't Read Me - the new film from writer Mo Buck - we will take a look at the filmography of Ben's little brother....

Season 6

Deprogramming
Director: Antonio Campos
Writer: Lon Charles

Budget: $19,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $39,997,252
Foreign Box Office: $25,717,029
Total Profit: $17,859,770

What a debut for Casey Affleck in the LRF world with the acclaimed cult drama Deprogramming. The film was highly regarded by critics (receiving 6 total GRA nominations, but failing to win any) and found Affleck with his first Best Actor GRA nomination (understandably losing out to Alden Ehrenreich's performance in Death Dream).

Season 10
Missing Men
Director: Clint Eastwood
Writer: Jimmy Ellis

Budget: $67,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $60,934,845
Foreign Box Office: $80,444,900
Total Profit: $12,313,199

After a few seasons away, Affleck next starred in a very different film from his debut - this time he starred in an action-packed Cold War thriller (the first film from writer Jimmy Ellis). The film performed decently at the box office. Critics didn't love the film, but they didn't hate it either, with the film garnering mildly positive reviews.

Season 11
Buried Child
Director: Clint Eastwood
Writer: Chad Taylor

Budget: $40,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $91,201,331
Foreign Box Office: $62,492,755
Total Profit: $53,800,393

Just a season later, Affleck was once again working with Eastwood - this time on the acclaimed drama, Buried Child - the first film to ever secure 10 GRA nominations (winning 3, including Best Picture). If the awards weren't enough, the film was also a sizable hit at the box office.

Season 13
The Crucible
Director: David Lowery
Writer: Lon Charles

Budget: $40,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $51,659,347
Foreign Box Office: $30,281,472
Total Profit: $1,603,715

In just his fourth LRF role, Affleck found himself with a major role in a Best Picture-nominated film for the third time. Affleck also managed another Best Actor nomination (once again losing to Alden Ehrenreich - this time for his role in Elysian).

Season 18
The Youngest Hart
Director: Greta Gerwig
Writer: Jacob Jones

Budget: $55,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $34,279,200
Foreign Box Office: $69,045,116
Total Profit: -$10,507,492

For the first time in his LRF career, Casey appeared in a film that failed to make a profit. The film received mixed reviews from critics - and unlike most Casey Affleck roles, was not nominated for Best Picture.

Up Next: Casey Affleck reportedly has a couple roles set after this season - one starring role and one supporting.
