Cyrano de Bergerac: Chris Sullivan (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, "This Is Us"), Freddie Highmore ("Bates Motel", The Secret History) and Eric Roberts (The Hunt, Libra) have all signed on to Kenneth Branagh's Cyrano de Bergerac in supporting roles. Sullivan will play a baker, Highmore will play a young drunk friend of Timothee Chalamet, and Roberts will play a viscount originally set to marry Hailee Steinfeld.
The Price of Fame: Chiwetel Ejiofor (The Raven in the Night, Doctor Strange), J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, Justice League) and John Krasinski (13 Hours, Detroit) have been cast in the upcoming thriller The Price of Fame from director Mark Romanek and writer Ann Morrow. Ejiofor will play a detective, Simmons will play Carey Mulligan's father, and Krasinski will play an A-List actor.
Dino Crisis 2: The cast of the upcoming Dino Crisis sequel has added Alec Baldwin (Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, "The Looming Tower") and Abigail Breslin ("Scream Queens", Freak Show) to round out its cast. Baldwin will portray a hologram character, while Breslin will play a young woman who finds herself trapped. Frank Darabont directs from a script by Billy Cruder.
Missoula: Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Steins Gate, 10 Cloverfield Lane), Domhnall Gleeson (Into Thin Air, Peter Rabbit) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (The Prisoner, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow) have joined the ensemble cast of the Greta Gerwig-directed, Chad Taylor-written The Big Chill remake. Mbatha-Raw will play Chris Evans' girlfriend, while Gleeson and Winstead will play a couple who host their old friends for the weekend.
Alan Wake: Tom Cruise (Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, American Made) is back to work for the studio, this time headlining a very different video game adaptation, Alan Wake. The supernatural action story follows a novelist as he tries to uncover the mystery behind his wife's disappearance. David Slade (Tumulus, "American Gods") will direct the project, a rare non-superhero entry into APJ's filmography.
Lullabies for Little Criminals: Chris Pine (Wonder Woman, Salem's Lot) and Golden Reel winner Mackenzie Foy (The Last of Us, The Child Martyr) will star in the drama Lullabies for Little Criminals from director Ava DuVernay (Selma, A Wrinkle in Time) and writer Mo Buck. Pine will play a drug addict and Foy will play his daughter.
