In Development

Displacement: John Slattery (Halo 2, Spotlight) and David Harbour (White Jazz, Salem's Lot) will round out the cast of the Jon Watts-directed sci-fi thriller Displacement. Slattery will play Aaron Eckhart's FBI superior, while Harbour will play a man from Sandra Bullock's past.

Steins Gate: Ben Kingsley (War Machine, The Walk), Zoe Saldana (Death and All His Friends, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and Lily Collins (Rules Don't Apply, To the Bone) have joined the time travel film Steins Gate. Collins will play the lead Sam Rockwell's assistant, Ben Kingsley will play the villain, and Saldana will play a possible time traveler. Nacho Vigalondo directs the film from a script by Seth Overton.

Guilt: Season 4 is priming to be a busy one for Cate Blanchett (Carol, the upcoming An Honest Mistake), who has booked another starring role, this time in the multi-generational family drama Guilt for director Todd Haynes (Wonderstruck, Carol) and Golden Reel-winning writer James Morgan (The Raven in the Night, Into Thin Air). Blanchett will star as a woman unhappy in her marriage, Tim Roth has been cast as her husband. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast as Roth's brother.

The Creature: The creative team behind the acclaimed Season 2 film Siren, director Robert Eggers (Siren, The Witch) and writer Ben Collins, will re-team for another fantastical story, The Creature. The film will star Garrett Hedlund (Mudbound, Mojave), Emmy Rossum ("Shameless", A Futile and Stupid Gesture) and Amanda Seyfried (The Last Word, Siren) in a tale about a couple who encounters a real mermaid. Hedlund and Rossum will play the couple, while Seyfried will play the mermaid.

Van Helsing: Following his turn in Dracula Lives, Michael Fassbender (Atlas Shrugged, Dracula Lives) will be reprising the role of Abraham Van Helsing in a solo film. Joining him in the film will be Hugh Laurie (Star Trek: Enterprise, "The Night Manager") and Hayley Atwell (Sherwood, Cinderella). Hugh Laurie will play Thomas Carnacki, the occult detective created by Will Hope Hodgson, an inspector with the Scotland Yard who requests Van Helsing's assistance. Hayley Atwell, meanwhile, will play a medium Van Helsing encounters in his investigations. Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell) will direct the film from a script by D.R. Cobb (The Question, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow).
