Plot: Plot: Captain Randor (Dolph Lundgren) enters the Hall of Wisdom to alert the Elders that Keldor (Callan Mulvey) will soon attack with his evil army. The Elders tell Randor that his troops will win and Randor will be King of Eternia. Just then, Keldor and his forces break through a wall of the Hall of Wisdom and a battle ensues. Randor manages to defeat Keldor. Keldor throws a vile of acid at Randor, who blocks it with his shield. The acid splatters onto Keldor. Evil-Lyn (Olga Kurylenko) retreats with Keldor's wounded body into the Dark Hemisphere to Keldor's sanctuary. When they get to the lair, Keldor finds that his head has been completely stripped of soft tissues. He dubs himself Skeletor. Now King, Randor has trapped his enemies in the Dark Hemispehere behind the Mystic Wall.
Decades later, Randor's head of the guards and most trusted general, Man-At-Arms (Manu Bennett), watches Randor's son, Prince Adam (Alan Ritchson), and his daughter Teela (Eleanor Tomlinson) undergo battle training in the courtyard. Suddenly, Man-At-Arms receives a telepathic message from The Sorceress that it is time for destiny to be fulfilled. Man-At-Arms tells Prince Adam that he needs to accompany him to Castle Grayskull. Once inside, they meet the Sorceress (Katheryn Winnick) and she tells Adam that all of the Elders of Eternia's power lies within the wall of the castle and that he needs to acquire his power to become He-Man, the protector of Eternia. Adam doesn't believe the Sorceress and leaves only to find his father's catle under attack by Skeletor.
Adam checks on his mother, Queen Marlena (Virginia Madsen). She tells Man-At-Arms and Adam that Keldor and his forces are responisble for the assault, and that King Randor is fighting Keldor elsewhere. Teela is battling some of Skeletor's soldiers when she loses her weapon. Adam and Man-At-Arms arrive in time and supply her with a new weapon, which she uses to quickly kill her opponent. Randor and Skeletor battle on a plateau. Skeletor and his magic eventually overwhelms Randor, and leaves with his unconsious body.
Adam runs back to Castle Grayskull. Teela sees this and thinks Adam is fleeing from battle. Evil-Lynn attacks, killing several soldiers with her magical attacks, leaving just Teela and Man-At-Arms before her. Adam returns to Castle Grayskull and follows The Sorceress to the power hidden inside the castle. She gives Adam the ancient power sword, holding it, he says the magic words: "By the power of Grayskull!" and transforms into He-Man for the first time, he finishes the statement with, "I have the power!" The Sorceress tells him that he needs a companion, a creature to ride fiercely into battle with. She brings forth Cringer, Adam's tiger like pet cat. Cringer is changed into the mighty Battle Cat and they leave towards the battle. Back on the battlefield Skeletor's forces are gaining the upper hand on the Defenders. Evil-Lyn conjures fourth a magmatite shower to attack, which is heading straight for Teela.
He-Man arrives and destroys a large magmatite with one punch, saving Teela's life. He introduces himself, while Evil-Lyn brings the magmatite shower down in full force. He-Man tears a huge chuck of ground off and holds it over his head to protect his kingdom's surviving soldiers. He-Man then throws the chunk of earth at the enemies, telling Teela and Man-At-Arms that he needs to go save King Randor and leaves.
Man-At-Arms is swallowed by a large green, fish-like creature. The creature then flies off. Man-At-Arms clings to the insides to keep from going into the digestive acids of the creature's stomach. Teela goes after and attacks the creature, but it has little to no effect. Teela continues chasing after the creature, but Man-At-Arms manages to cut his way out from the inside of the creature, killing it.
Skeletor is about to throw King Randor off of a cliff when He-Man arrives. He-Man and Skeletor begins to fight. Battle Cat, and Skeletor's own feline Panthor fight each other as well. He-Man begins to overtake Skeletor in the battle. Just as Skeletor is about to lose, Evil-Lyn arrives and teleports them both back to Skeletor's lair in Snake Mountain.
The kingdom of Eternia celebrates their victory over Skeletor's invading forces. Prince Adam tries to save face with Teela while keeping his alter ego of He-Man a secret from everyone except Man-At-Arms, Criger/Battle Cat and the Sorceress herself. King Randor tells Adam that he must train more as the kingdom will one day be his, possibly sooner than anyone would like.
