Street Racing power couple James Johnson (Matt Gerald) & Natasha Henridge (Natalie Dormer) win another street race and goes to celebrate in a bar. In the bar they meet a group of Street Racers Bose (Tyrese Gibson), Milwaukie Jon (Antonio Banderas), Cydney Bass (Paula Patton) and Rhonda Rash (Danai Gurira). They invite them to take part in another Street Race which involves a bit more extreme betting.

James Johnson wins the race by beating the Ego-maniac Teflon Mike (Sheamus), which doesn't sit well with the group and they then invite them to an underground club where they organize more extreme street races. Opposing Natasha concerns and advise that he should talk with his younger brother William Johnson (Liam Hemsworth) who is abroad for studies, James agrees to participate.

Natasha doesn't participate in the race as she would be helping James evade Police Officer O'Conner (Kellan Lutz) who is on his behind for his street race antics.

On the race day James and Natasha meet Axle (Taylor Lautner) the leader of group who would also take part in the race. Both James and Natasha are surprised by seeing how other racers have equipped their bikes with weapons of different kind. When the race start to their horror they see that the other participants are using their weapons on others without remorse. James somehow avoid their wrath and builds a commendable lead only challenged by Axle and some of his group members. In the last leg of the race, Axle and his lackeys group on James and attack him. James is brutally attacked and his bike irreparably damaged. The bike explodes killing James. As the race was illegal Natasha couldn't do anything about James death except telling the truth to William who gets enraged and tries to attack the Axle and his group but in the end got beaten up by them.

Natasha explains William that they need to defeat them in their own game. Natasha starts training William in Bike racing, who seems a natural as it runs in their genes. After some good performances in normal street races, Natasha decides to up their training by them equipping their bikes with weapons  and practicing to use them. In the start there are horrible but shows sign of improvement after extreme weeks of training. While being troubled by Officer O'Conner who thinks there is a mystery behind James Road Rash death.

Natasha and William goes to the underground club and joins the next Extreme Street Race. Seeing this Axle and group decides to keep an eye on them. In their scouting they see that both of them are performing well but Axle is unfazed by this development and thinks they will meet the same fate as their brother. Behind Axle's back the others consisting of Bose, Teflon and Rhonda attacks them in their house where William and Natasha are almost killed but Officer O'Conner saves them, in the ensuing attack Rhonda suffers a major injury but the trio escapes somehow, after they escape Officer O'Conner demands the truth from them which they say to him and O'Conner tries to talk them out of it but seeing they have set their heart he departs.

The Race starts and both William and Natasha shows good team work to race in a similar way to James and are just behind Axle in the standings. All of a sudden Axle groups corner them and looks like they are going to meet same fate as James but suddenly a Police Officer Patrol Team lead by O'Conner joins them on the highway which makes Axle and his group to disband. After the Patrol team leaves William and Natasha using the opportunity attacks each of the group member one by one and killing each of them, In the end they confront Axle and kill him in a similar manner to James. They both continue the race which is won by Natasha.

Officer O'Conner closes the case of deaths of Axle and his group as a case of "Road Rash".
