Breaking News
Things have been a little dormant with Last Resort Films' Monster Universe, but that is about to change with the upcoming release of the Michael Fassbender-led Dracula Lives spin-off Van Helsing. The film will reportedly be more grounded to avoid comparisons to the well-known Universal Studios film of the same name. The film will also apparently introduce new characters that may appear in later Monster Universe films. Studio president Phil Dolan has decided to announce that the next two films in the series have been set and have already hired directors and stars while D.R. Cobb works on the scripts to both films. The Invisible Man has hired Matt Reeves (Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dino Crisis) to direct and is currently set for an early-Season 6 release. Dolan declined to announce the leading man, simply saying "Watch Van Helsing...". Following that, the studio has set a mid-Season 7 release date for Mr. Hyde with Chris Evans (The Cry of the Owl, Metal Gear Solid) set to direct and star in the project. Evans previously starred in and directed the well-received Season 1 film The Cry of the Owl for the studio.
