High Society: Bill Skarsgard (It, Deadpool 2), Jessica Pare ("Mad Men", Brooklyn) and John Lithgow (Flicker, Birth of Frankenstein) will round out the cast of George Miller's upcoming sci-fi thriller High Society. Skarsgard will play secret agent, Lithgow will play his boss, and Pare will play a nurse. James Morgan wrote the script.
Be More Chill: The off-beat musical comedy Be More Chill has added Shameik Moore ("The Get Down", Dope), Antoine-Olivier Pilon (Mommy, 1:54), Jason Sudeikis (Colossal, Downsizing) and Kyle Mooney ("Saturday Night Live", Birgsby Bear). Moore and Pilon will play popular high school students, while Sudeikis will play Lucas Hedges' father and Mooney will play a high school drama teacher. Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone are directing the film from a script by Chad Taylor.
Life on Mars: John Malone is back with another television adaptation, this time of the British time travel series Life on Mars. Bradley Cooper (Mass Effect: Cerberus, True West) will star in the film as a cop who finds himself back in the 1970s with no idea why or how. Bryan Cranston (Uncharted, Batman: Gotham Knight) has been cast to play his aggressive police superior in the 1970s, while Katherine Waterston (Alien: Covenant, Steve Jobs) has been cast to play the precinct's lone female officer and love interest of Cooper. Doug Liman (Splinter Cell, American Made) has been hired to direct the film.
The Grind: Writer Jack Ryder (Hawkeye, Dishonest) has teamed with director Kevin Tancharoen (Fame, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.") for an original martial arts film. Lewis Tan ("Into the Badlands", Deadpool 2), Jessica Henwick ("Iron Fist", Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Ralph Fiennes (Solution, Jack the Ripper) will lead the cast. Tan will play a reclusive alcoholic who uses his fighting expertise to avenge his mother's death. Henwick will play a family friend, while Fiennes once again finds himself in a villainous role.
Alien: Isolation: Following the success of Planet LV 426 in Season 2, Carl Flimmer is set to continue his Alien series with Alien: Isolation, utilizing the plot of the video game of the same name. The cast will be led by Daisy Ridley (Dracula Lives, Every Secret Thing) and the ever-busy Oscar Isaac (An Honest Mistake, Dracula Lives). Ridley will play Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, and Oscar Isaac will play an android who recruits her to search for her mother. Fede Alvarez (Don't Breathe, Evil Dead) will direct the film.
Bad Education: Matthew McConaughey (American Outlaws, True West) has signed on to star in Bad Education from writer Lon Charles (The Life of the Party, Atlantic City) and director J.C. Chandor (A Most Violet Year, All Is Lost). McConaughey will play a Long Island public school superintendant caught embezzling money from the school district.
