In Development

Life on Mars: Director Doug Liman and writer John Malone's time travel cop movie has added the talents of Anson Mount (The Last of Us, Inhumans), Scoot McNairy (Perfect Blue, Booster Gold), Ruth Wilson ("The Affair", I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House) and Ray Winstone (The Question, The Fog). Mount and McNairy will play detectives in the 1970s, Wilson will play Bradley Cooper's present day partner and girlfriend, while Winstone will play an organized crime figure in 1970s Los Angeles.

The Grind: Dave Bautista (Carbon, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Jay Hernandez (Suicide Squad, Bright) and Michelle Yeoh ("Star Trek: Discovery", Morgan) have joined The Grind from writer Jack Ryder and director Kevin Tancharoen. Bautista will play a villain, Hernandez a friend of the hero (played by Lewis Tan), and Yeoh will play Tan's mother.

Alien: Isolation: Three more will joining the latest Alien film. Sophie Turner (The Price of Fame, Metal Gear Solid), Daniel Kaluuya (Shake Hands with the Devil, Dino Crisis) and Cole Hauser ("Rogue", Transcendence) have joined Alien: Isolation. Turner will play an employee of Weyland-Yutani, Kaluuya will play a deputy at a space station, and Hauser will play the captain of another ship stationed at the station. Fede Alvarez is making his debut with the studio on the film. Carl Flimmer wrote the script.

Bad Education: Allison Tolman (The House, "Fargo"), Spike Jonze (The Wolf of Wall Street, Moneyball) and Anthony Michael Hall (Live by Night, War Machine) have all joined Matthew McConaughey in Bad Education, the true story of how a school superintendent stole over millions from the district. Tolman will play MacConaughey's office confidant who helps him steal, Jonze will play an attorney, and Hall will play a district employee. JC Chandor is directing from a script by Lon Charles.

Doppelganger: Natalie Portman and Colin Farrell are set to have company in Alex Garland's latest sci-fi thriller with Sarah Paulson (Hellraiser, "American Horror Story"), Millie Bobby Brown (Hunt, "Stranger Things") and David Tennant (Bonnie and Clyde, Bad Samaritan) joining the film. Tennant will play a father who signs his daughter up for experiments with a scientist played by Paulson. Brown will play his daughter. Mo Buck wrote the script for the project, which hopes to lead to a sequel.

Made in Abyss:
The studio has brought in Peter Jackson (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Lovely Bones) to direct a fantasy manga adaptation from Seth Overton (Mass Effect 2, Steins Gate). Elle Fanning (Perfect Blue, Home Again) is set to star in the film as a teenage orphan who dreams of exploring The Abyss, a colossal pit hiding countless treasures. Liam James (Speech & Debate, "The Family") will play an amnesic robot who joins Fanning on her journey, while Lena Headey ("Game of Thrones", Zipper) will play a villainous cave raider.
