In Development

Life on Mars: Doug Liman's latest has added several talented actors to its ensemble cast. Desmond Harrington (Perfect Blue, Without Remorse), Makenzie Leigh (James White, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk), Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, The Witch) and Sissy Spacek (Pudd'nhead Wilson, Alan Wake) have all signed on to the project. Spacek will play Bradley Cooper's mother in the present day, while the others will play 1970s characters. John Malone wrote the script.

Alien: Isolation: Michael C. Hall ("Safe", Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House), Eve Hewson ("The Knick", Bridge of Spies) and  Abigail Spencer ("Rectify", "Timeless") have joined the latest Alien film from director Fede Alvarez and writer Carl Flimmer.

Bad Education: Aside from the big name star Matthew McConaughey, writer Lon Charles and director JC Chandor, are continuing to opt for lesser known character actors to fill out the rest of the cast. Nathan Fielder ("Nathan for You", The Disaster Artist), Michael Chiklis ("Gotham", When the Game Stands Tall), Hope Davis ("For the People", Rebel in the Rye) and Tony Hale ("Veep", "Arrested Development") will round out the cast of the true story of a school superintendent who stole millions from the district.

Doppelganger: Christopher Eccleston (Legend, "The Leftovers"), Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk, The Beatles) and Helen Mirren (Winchester, Collateral Beauty) have signed on to play supporting roles in the latest ambitious sci-fi thriller from director Alex Garland and writer Mo Buck.

Made in Abyss: Peter Jackson has always managed to line up impressive casts for his films and Made in Abyss is no different, especially with new additions Hugo Weaving (Halo 2, Gorky Park), Timothee Chalamet (La Resistance, Cyrano de Bergerac) and Cate Blanchett (Guilt, Mass Effect: Cerberus). Seth Overton wrote the adaptation for the film which tells the story of a teenage orphan (Elle Fanning) who journeys into the fantastical Abyss.

Reality: A talented trio of actresses have signed on to star in an upcoming sci-fi drama from writer Andrew Doster (Zombieworld, Sisters) and director Andy Muschietti (Mama, It). Hayley Atwell (Van Helsing, Sherwood), Evan Rachel Wood (The Fog, "Westworld"), Rose Leslie ("Game of Thrones", Zombieworld) are set to star in the film which is set in a future following an alien attack on Earth. The three women play residents of a small village of survivors.
