Plot : 2890 the world is not changing too much. The big change is the people they called 'Time Patroler' that has a job to protect the 'fate' of human kind.
Theo Wayne (Hugh Jackman) is a Time Villain (the term that use for criminal who changes the human fate) that used to caged in Lock Pit. The number 1 toughest jail in the world but somehow he managed to escaped from the jail and went back In Time.
Carlos Veda (Anthony Hopkins). The best Time Patroler the world ever have was signed to catch Theo. He used the Time Machine 2000 to track where Theo go.
He arrived in 2018, he wondering why Theo went too far to the past. He lost in the of New York. He got no signal in his Patroler Watch.
He knows Theo's habit and went to the nearest church. He sits on the pew and looking at his watch if somehow he can get the signal.
Suddenly a boy sit besides him with a bible in his hand. He reads the bible out-loud and made Carlos a bit disturb. He warn him not to do it but the boy still do it, he ask him what is his name. His name is Joshua Wayne (Max Records) he is tracking some weird person that always stalk him whenever he read the bible.
Carlos' watch is beeping, he located the location and track him down in behind the church. But he didn't see Theo, he can only see some random Indian that sit on the ground and do some chemistry in his book.
After look at his face for a while he recognizes him as Saravanan Neother (Dev Patel) the founder of Time Patrol Organization.
He also the founder of The Time Theory, he stated that the time has holes that can be widen to give a space for people to 'Drive' around the time itself, the hole that was widen is a way to the Time Station where the 'fate' of people was placed by the god himself and by entering the hole where the 'fate' was place, people can go back in time and return by entering the hole where their fate to travel back in time placed.
And don't forget he is also the one who created The Time Machine alone without anyone helping him.
Because he cannot find Theo he decided to stay in New York for awhile.
In one raining night, one signal received by Carlos' watch. He rushed to some kind of junkyard where body of cars placed.
While he was investigating the signal he found a tunnel. He followed the tunnel to the center of the tunnel where he can see Saravanan and Joshua is talking. Then Saravanan told Joshua to sit on a thing that he recognise as the prototype of The Time Machine.
While Saravanan doing his 'job' to attaching wires to the machine. Carlos could see Theo is watching on the other side of tunnel.
When the back count is started Theo aim to Saravanan, Carlos also aim but to his heart. Theo was about to shoot the machine when Carlos shot him to dead by using a quantum 27x revolver.
Because Theo is dead Carlos was automatically send back on time.
He woke up on the pew of the New York church, he was waken by Joshua's sound. He was about to warn Joshua not to do it when he realized that he already done that.
Then he walk to the back of the church where Saravanan is doing his chemistry thing. He approach him and wanted to touch him when Suddenly Saravanan say "Deja Vu isn't it?"

He is bewildered about what is going on. He walks to the back of the church and approaching Saravanan from behind and look what is he doing.
He knows the formula that Saravanan is writing. It is the 'Deja Vu' formula. A formula that used to used by Time Patroler to know they're in Deja Vu's loop or not.
De Javu loop is a condition that occur when a Time Patroler changed History.
He realized that he'd changed the history but he don't know what he'd changed.
He woke up on the pew of the New York church, he was waken by Joshua's sound. He was about to warn Joshua not to do it when he know that he already done that.
He followed the step when he first came to this world.
He went to the location where he shot Theo and let Theo shot Saravanan.
While Saravanan doing his 'job' to attaching wires to the machine. Carlos could see Theo is watching on the other side of tunnel.
When the back count is started Theo aim to Saravanan, Carlos realise that its already happened twice.
Because he don't have time to prevent Theo for shooting Saravanan. He use his body to defend Saravanan.

He run to Saravanan and push Saravanan so Theo's shot the machine when Joshua was sent to the Time Station and there's no way to save him.
Carlos recall when Theo was found and consider as the Time Villain. He was found in the Time Station by him. But he also didn't recall saving him from the Time Station.
After a while. He realize that he's not in the tunnel anymore. Now he's in The Time Station.
He can see Saravanan is standing wondering about the Time Station.
Carlos just leave him alone. He knew that he is the one who gives Saravanan idea to make The Time Machine.
He step back and Saravanan was changed to Theo that's smiling to him while fading slowly.
He entered his Time Hole and went back to his time. But everything was changed. He is not lying inside the Time Machine. He is lying on his bed, wearing his favourite casual clothes, he walked out the room. He knows that it is his house, he can see his daughter with her husband.
He stopped for a while smiling. Before walk toward them and having some talk.
His daughter's husband's name is... Saravanan Neother.
