Reaction: Excellent numbers for this mid-budget comedy, although the profits were substantially cut after Pitt, Black and McConaughey received their piece of the profit (in exchange for much smaller than usual salaries). The accountants should still be happy though since the profit is close to the budget of the film.

"Hands on a Hard Body is an infectious film. The topic of the film (people seeing who can keep their hand on a truck the longest) has no right to be as entertaining as it is, but Linklater's film succeeds due to its likable cast of misfits." - Michael Van Patten, Slant Magazine

"Richard Linklater makes a strong comeback from his previous film, the disastrous flop Eleanor & Park, with this fun ensemble film reminiscent of strong previous works like Dazed and Confused, Bernie and Everybody Wants Some!!" - Henry Stewart, Chicago Sun-Times

"While the film does straddle the comedy/drama genre line a bit too non-committal at times, Hands on a Hard Body gives a nice platform to its cast to play quirky, entertaining characters." - Michael Wilmington, Rolling Stone

Rated PG-13 for some language
