Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas: Director Ryan Coogler's take on the Grand Theft Auto franchise has added Samuel L. Jackson (Share, Death and All His Friends Part II), Paul Walter Hauser (Deprogramming, BlacKkKlansman), Eva Mendes (Grand Theft Auto, Lost River), John Slattery (Halo 3, Letter to Myself) and Donnie Yen (Mortal Kombat, Eclipse) to the expansive cast of characters. Harry Wright penned the adaptation.

Hands on a Hard Body: The large ensemble film, Hands on a Hard Body, from writer Chad Taylor and director Richard Linklater has finally rounded out its cast with the additions of America Ferrera ("Superstore", Special Correspondents), Tim Blake Nelson (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Colossal), Eric Edelstein (Flower, Newness) and Ron Funches (Get Hard, Once Upon a Time in Venice).

Splinter Cell: Conviction: Karen Gillan (Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Dino Crisis 2) will return to the Splinter Cell series as Third Echelon's Chief Technical Analyst. She will be joined in the film by the likes of Aidan Gillen (Black Dublin, Mass Effect: Silent Assassins), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Guilt, The Dead Zone) and Elias Koteas ("Chicago P.D.", My Days of Mercy). Aidan Gillen will play the new Third Echelon director Tom Reed, Morgan will play a friend of Sam Fisher's who runs a private military company, while Koteas will play a gang leader in Malta. Jose Padilha is directing the film from a script by D.R. Cobb.

Jersey Devil: Clive Steinbeck's "Creature Feature" was teased a couple seasons back, and now is finally ready to begin with the first film, Jersey Devil. Kevin Smith (Yoga Hosers, Tusk) will direct the New Jersey-set horror film. Christopher Walken (Spark of Madness, Irreplaceable You), John Goodman (To the Moon, Calamity) and Frank Grillo (Wheelman, Stray Dogs) are set to star in the project. Walken will play a seedy carnival owner who wants to profit off of the famed monster, Goodman will play a local preacher, while Grillo will play a small town sheriff.

Nexus: Before settling in to direct Letter to Myself, Mo Buck (Calamity, 7 Days) has lent his services as co-writer for the latest film from Jacob Jones (Story of Sade, Happy Nuke Year), the sci-fi film Nexus. Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water, Inhumans) has been set to direct the film. Joel Edgerton (Ranger, Gorky Park), Jeremy Irons (Mandingos, Heart of Stone), Michael B. Jordan (High Society, Bonnie and Clyde) and Ben Kingsley (Decrescendo, Steins Gate) have joined the cast as members of a ragtag spaceship crew who team up to fight a power hungry commander.

An Ember in the Ashes: Patty Jenkins (Mass Effect: The Shadow Broker, Wonder Woman) has been hired to direct a film based on the young adult fantasy series An Ember in the Ashes. Alexander Ludwig ("Vikings", Blackway), Lily Collins (Steins Gate, To the Bone), Dakota Fanning (Sisters, "The Alienist") and Jeremy Irvine (Femme Fatale, Siren) have been cast in the film which follows a girl named Laia (Collins) spying for rebels against the reigning empire in exchange for their help in rescuing her captive brother, and a boy named Elias (Ludwig) struggling to free himself from being an enforcer of a tyrannical regime. Fanning and Irvine have been cast in supporting roles. Willem Mainwright (Burial Rites, Life After Life) penned the adaptation.
