Release: Nexus

Nexus
Genre: Action/Sci-Fi
Director: Guillermo del Toro
Writer: Jacob Jones and Mo Buck
Cast: Joel Edgerton, Michael B. Jordan, Ben Kingsley, Jeremy Irons, Natalie Dormer, Daniel Kaluuya, Rob Gronkowski, Dave Bautista, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Kate Upton

Budget: $158,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $86,499,175
Foreign Box Office: $161,305,823
Total Profit: -$44,772,094

Reaction: The foreign numbers were okay, and if the domestic numbers would have been similar the film probably could have even broken even, but unfortunately that was not the case. The lack of profits probably don't bode well for the sequel plans.

"The world-building, while not on the level of something like Avatar or Scion, is still rather impressive. The film is also led by a strong ensemble (and a rare leading role for Sir Ben Kingsley)." - Stan Kyle, Omaha World-Herald

"Nexus, at the same time, has both too much going on and too little actual story. There's a lot of build-up and exposition, but never manages to tell a complete story, choosing to set-up unlikely sequels instead." - Glenn Howard, Total Film

"Nexus is quite a spectacle. While definitely over-long and too bogged-down by backstory, it is still impressive in its technical aspects." - Albert Perry, Orange County Register

Rated PG-13 for sci-fi action and violence
