Plot : We see a montage of Shauna (Danielle Brooks) going to work and waiting for the bus, while Cass (Maya Hawke) is sleeping on her couch and Amy (Emma Mackey) is arguing with her mother (Megan Mullaly) who got drunk again and broke a coffee table. Shaun is now at work and seems incredibly bored, like all her colleagues. She goes outside to smoke and is insulted by a man and she hits him. He says she’s going to regret it, but she scares him away before the opening credit starts.

Back inside the taco restaurant, Shauna’s boss (Rosie Perez), tells her the man called the police and she may be fired. Shauna remembers all the time she was insulted because she’s an African-American and tries to justify herself, but she reminds her about all the ketchup packets her friends steal, all the food she got for free and all the time she disappears with J.D. She reminds her that it’s not the behaviour of a manager. Shauna tells her she’ll go to anger management classes and will forbid her friends to come back to the restaurant and her boss says she won’t have a second chance and will ask for proof of her anger management class.

Amy sits next to her mother who passed out on the couch. Amy strokes her hair and we see Bianca has a black eye. During this time, Cass is with Amelie (Haley Bennett) and reads a poem she wrote, even though Cass thinks she says it’s garbage. Amelie thinks it’s actually pretty good and it’s a good way for her to vent. She recommends that she starts writing every day and read to people she can be honest with. Amy is getting ready and tries to sneak out before her mother wakes up, but before she’s able to get out, Alan (Dean Winters) knocks on the door, asking for Amy. She then tries to sneak out the bathroom window, but gets stuck, so she screams at her mother so she comes to help, but she’s still fast asleep. Amy then decides to call Cass and asks her to come help as fast as possible. In the meantime, Bianca wakes up and starts laughing when she sees her daughter stuck in the window. Cass arrives and sees Amy stuck and laughs too. Bianca pushes her out the window and starts to pee in front of Cass and falls asleep on the toilet.

Amy and Cass want to see Shauna at work, but her boss tell them they can’t come eat here anymore. Amy insults her and asks Shauna what’s happening and her boss leaves Shauna to explain it to her friends. She tells them to come and meet her in the park accross the streets.

At the park, Shauna then tells them she hit a racist man and Amy can’t believe Shauna did that. Shauna tells her to keep it down, but to prove her point that no one cares, Amy screams that she crapped her pants, to everyone’s indiffĂ©rence. Cass feels sorry for her and suggest to Shauna she should go and see Amelie.

The whole gang sits awkwardly in Amelie’s office and she stares at them in silence. Amy forces Amelie to see Shauna instead of her and an irritated Amelie accepts. Back in the waiting room, Cass is writing a song on a piece of paper and Amy wants to hear it, even if it’s not done. The song is about Keven, Cass’ ex. While she sings the song, she has flashbacks of the party where she drank too much. Realising the song is about Keven, Amy is furious, telling her that she shouldn’t think about this piece of shit anymore, he kicked her down and ripped her doorframes apart, he’s just crazy. Cass says she wasn’t done, but Amy isn’t having it, which angers Cass. Back in Amelie’s office, Amelie tries to find out why Shauna thinks it’s okay that she hit the man and why she keeps her anger inside. Shauna fakes being interested and gets her proof. Everyone is happy and Amy suggest they go out because she just got her welfare check. Shauna says it’s good idea, the cute barmaid is working tonight. Amy says he doesn’t care about her, but Shauna says she’ll make sure he notices her tonight.

The girls enter the bar in dramatic fashion, hoping to get noticed, but they realise that there are only middle aged men there. They sit down at a table and Amy goes over to the bar to get some drinks. A sad man hits on her and she turns him down. During this time, J.D. (Algee Smith) surprises Shauna, but she doesn’t seem really happy to see him and asks him to leave, it’s a girls night out. Frustrated he goes over to the bar, where Amy is asking Nassim (Ramy Youssef) about the woman he was talking to the other day. He changes the subject and compliments her on her appearance and she orders two pitchers of beer. To try and impress him, she chugs a pitcher, but he’s more uncomfortable than anything. J.D. saw her and chases after her after she goes out to smoke. He tries to flirt with her, telling her she’s attractive despite what the barman is telling her. He then kisses Amy right as Shauna comes outside. They stop and Amy runs away when she sees Shauna. J.D. tells her it’s only a joke and then Shauna slaps him, asking her if he thinks she found the joke funny.

Amy finally stops and sits down in an alley and lights up a cigarette. She notices an arm sticking out of a tarp on the ground and she discovers it’s Pretzel (H. Jon Benjamin), laying on the ground, unconscious. Amy starts to cry and screams for help. She notices Pretzel is wearing the necklace Amy helped her with the other and she takes it.
