Two of the men run off and get into a car, they start the engine and begin to drive away. Daredevil throws one of his batons at the car window, smashing it, he then throws the other knocking the driver out, all while fighting off the two other men. The passenger from the car emerges with a handgun, Daredevil senses this with his radar sense, as the assailant pulls the trigger Daredevil Matrix style dodges it, he grabs one of the unloaded guns and throws it in the direction of the shot, it knocks the gun out of his hand. The three men then charge at Daredevil managing to overpower him for a second, he however dodges a punch that ends up hitting another thug. He then grabs the arm of one and twists him to the ground, punching him, he knocks him out. The other two look to each other before throwing punches, Daredevil slaps the hands out of the way and hits one with a spinning jump kick knocking him out. The other man basically gives up, getting on his knees. Daredevil tells him to tell his boss that these dealings stop here in Hell’s Kitchen, he then hits him across the head. Daredevil walks out picking up his batons on his way.

TITLE SEQUENCE

Daredevil runs atop the rooftops of Hell’s Kitchen. He uses a connected rope in between his batons to swing from light pole to light pole. He looks up, sniffing the air, the scent of the city air enters his nostrils together with a brief trace of gunpowder from his left. He heads out to track down the location of the gunpowder.

Leland Owlsley (Matthew Rhys) sits at a round table. There is a man tied up laying on top of the table. Owlsley holds a gun to his head. He interrogates the man, asking him why he stole his money. The man pleads with him telling him he would never think of it, he didn’t do it, he says that maybe Owlsley counted wrong. An anger comes in Owlsley’s eye, he simply looks at him and tells him he never counts his money wrong, never. He shoots the man in the head. As he begins to walk away, Daredevil stands at the opposite side of the room. Owlsley asks him who he is supposed to be. Daredevil is approached by two men of which he easily dispatches. Daredevil then approaches Owlsley but he is blindsided by Ammo (Nathan Jones) allowing for Owlsley to escape. Ammo gets atop of the offguard Daredevil and begins beating him over the head. Daredevil manages to get him off him but Ammo kicks him back to the ground, Ammo then walks away from the scene leaving a beat up Daredevil. Another man emerges to finish the job, but Daredevil hits him with the stick once in the gut, once in the back, and on his solar plexus, causing him to stop breathing temporarily. After the man falls, Daredevil crouches down next to him and punches him in the face repeatedly, spilling blood all over the floor and his fists. Suddenly, the kneeling man hits Daredevil in the back of the head with a glass bottle. Daredevil falls to the floor and the man gets up kicking him many times in the gut. Daredevil manages to catch one of the kicks and he drags the man’s foot so he falls. Daredevil slowly crawls his injured body over to the man and hits him with the stick very hard on his head. Daredevil struggles to get back up, panting and groaning in pain. As sirens blare he slowly limps far from the area, and disappears in the shadows.

Owlsley runs into an office building, he turns the light on and is scared by Silvio Manfredi (Armand Assante) sitting in the darkness. Owlsley approaches and gives the man a hug. He asks him when he got out. Manfredi told him he was released yesterday. And, Manfredi adds, that now Fisk is imprisoned he wants what is his, Hell’s Kitchen. Owlsley laughs it off, he can then tell Manfredi isn’t joking and stops laughing. Manfredi continues saying that, that rat deserves what he got, ratting him out like that to get his spot in Hell’s Kitchen, that wasn’t on. He adds that if Owlsley has a real problem with it he’s sure he can make some arrangements to take more parts of New York too. Owlsley says it’s good to have him back, however there might be someone else that doesn’t want Hell’s Kitchen run by them. Manfredi is listening, Owlsley tells him of a new guy taking down rackets like his own, in fact he thwarted an ammo trade and almost got to him tonight. Manfredi tells him that he can take care of him, he may just need a little assistance if things go bad, Manfredi then looks at Ammo, saying he will do.

Matt Murdock (Sam Heughan) limps into the office he shares with Foggy Nelson (Eric Christian Olsen). Karen Page (Kristine Froseth) their assistant runs over to him and helps him to the ground. She begins patching him up. Foggy asks what happened. Murdock tells him. Foggy says that when he told him he was going to start doing this, he thought he was going to go after easy jobs, you know creepy men stealing handbags. Murdock laughs as he takes the suit off. Page grabs a stitch kit to stitch him up. Foggy asks him if he’ll be ok to talk with Hobie tomorrow, Murdock says he will be fine especially for their biggest case yet. Murdock says that he had a run in with a man named Leland Owlsley, he wants to know of any known associates of him, asking if Page can do some research into him.

Hours after the robbery attempt, police have closed the store to customers and taped it off. No officers are monitoring it. A man sneaks in by the name Melvin Potter (Luke Hemsworth), he examines the store. He stays silent as he does so. After looking inside for a little he goes back outside and examines it from there. He wonders, what man can take on these three, leave that much blood, and no weapons. He knows of one person, but he knows he does not kill, or does he, did he finally slip up, did he finally make a mistake. Potter returns home and up on a whiteboard is blurry photos of Daredevil with lists of places he has appeared. He wonders who this hero is?

Murdock and Foggy are in an interview room. Seated opposite them is Hobie Brown (Trevor Jackson). Murdock reminds him what they went over last session. There is no denying that Brown is the Prowler. Brown agrees with him on that. Brown then continues to say that he however did not kill that officer. Foggy reminds him that it doesn’t look good that his prints were on the body. David remains adamant that he didn’t kill the officer. Murdock asks him to take them through what happened one last time.

Two years earlier, Brown, dressed in Prowler garments, is exiting an Oscorp Industries building, with a serum, a small vile of green liquid. He throws a smoke bomb at the guards; they collapse. He begins scaling the next building with his steel tipped claws. He glides from the building down under a bridge to the organised pick-up location.

Foggy buts in asking what was in the bomb, Brown tells him it just knocks people out, he’s never killed anybody, and he doesn’t intend to start on his last job. Murdock asks why it was his last job. Brown tells him that he wants to be a good man again, a part of society. His wife left him, and he wants to make amends. Foggy tells him to continue.

Brown is on his knees and places his hand behind his head, he grabs a smoke bomb from his wrist gauntlet and gets ready to throw it, the police officer is suddenly hit by something and drops to the ground dead, Prowler goes over to see what has just happened, he to is hit by something knocking him out.

Back in the room he tells them that when he came to the serum was gone and the police surrounded him. He has pleaded his innocence ever since. Murdock tells him that he will get jail time, but they will do their best to limit it. Brown thanks them as they stand. Murdock adds one last thing telling him if they are to put in all the effort, he wants assurance he won’t go back to this life. Brown tells him he has his word. After they leave the room Foggy tells him he could have easily been lying. Murdock just walks away saying he wasn’t, and he intends to prove it.

Melvin Potter is at a bar sipping at his drink, he checks his phone as if to wait for a call. Breaking News comes on. J. Jonah Jameson (Ron Perlman) announces that late last night a young man by the name of Jack Potter was killed, Melvin looks to the television, his lip quivers.

Manfredi and Owlsley sit in front of the television, the same news reporter is happening. Jameson puts a hand to his ear, he says he just received word that the killer has been named … the new hero or menace … Daredevil. Manfredi and Owlsley smile.

Murdock and Foggy sit around in their office talking over the Hobie Brown case. Page walks in remembering what Murdock wanted about Owlsley. She tells him that there was only one name everywhere, Silvio Manfredi. She says that Manfredi was just released from prison. Murdock wonders if he could be pulling the strings around Owlsley. Page then says that Wilson Fisk turned him in a year back, now Fisk was arrested, Manfredi was released. She suggests maybe Manfredi wants to take back Hell’s Kitchen. Murdock then tells Foggy and Page someone is coming, he tells Page to go hide. Melvin Potter bursts through the door catching the two-off guard. Panting he tells them that he wants to take down Daredevil. Foggy and Murdock look at each other and ask why. Potter stares asking if they haven’t watched the news. He says that Daredevil killed a man, he killed his brother. Murdock asks if he’s sure, Daredevil’s never killed in the past, why would he start now, maybe it was a mistake, Murdock begins to sweat. Potter tells him a mistake or not he has to pay. Potter notices the bruises on Murdock’s face and the cuts on his hand. Foggy tells them he will go and get his laptop to write it all down eaving Potter and Murdock alone. . Potter rushes toward Matt and throws a punch, Matt dodges. The two trade blows, Potter is skilled in the martial arts, especially against an injured Murdock. Potter takes a glass bottle and smashes it over Matthew’s head, causing him to start bleeding. He then takes the broken glass and stabs Murdock in the gut. Potter then punches his gut again. Murdock ends up close to an open window, he can smell the trash. Matthew takes his plate from the coffee table and throws it at Potter. Matthew runs toward the window and jumps, falling back first into the dumpster. A defeated Potter looks out the window with Murdock nowhere to be found.

Back in his apartment, Matthew stumbles inside, bleeding from his head and stomach. He sits on his couch and lifts his hand from the side of his abdomen, revealing a big piece of broken glass impaled inside him. He begins to pull it out, groaning in pain. Matthew ignores his injuries and puts on the suit. He notices that the cut on his side is bleeding, so he gets bandages and wraps them around his stomach. He runs towards a window and jumps, landing on another building and running through the city. He keeps running on the city and stops abruptly as he hears a child screaming. Matthew runs towards the yelling and stops on a rooftop on top of a sidewalk. A van is parked on the curb while three men carry a child towards the van. Matthew immediately drops down, grunting after he feels some pain on his side. He tells them to let the kid go. One of the men pulls out a gun but Daredevil throws one of his stick on the man’s hand. He rushes towards the man and kicks his chest, throwing him at the van. Matthew hits the two men who are holding the child at the same and catches the child. “Run. Go to your left behind the alley and there is a police station.” he whispers to the kid as he starts running away. Suddenly, Matthew is hit in the back of the head with a baseball bat. He falls on the floor with his head bleeding even more, ears ringing, and pain all over. The men start getting up and surrounding the downed Daredevil. The man with the bat hits him again, this time on the stomach. The other men kick him many times. Matthew is too hurt to do anything.

One of the men is hit by a lead pipe in the head knocking him out. Suddenly Melvin Potter walks through the alley and takes on the remaining three men, obviously they don’t know any martial arts they are just thugs. Potter uses nearby glass and slices one of the men, the rest flee. Potter walks over to Daredevil’s battered body and carries it.

On a rooftop, Daredevil regains consciousness and finds himself tied to a pole. Potter stands in front of him. Daredevil tells Potter that he is making a mistake, and maybe he made a mistake, but he is almost certain that he couldn’t have killed his brother. Potter tells him he knows. He adds that he has a friend that works at the hospital, he just got a call that his brother was alive when he was admitted to the hospital, in a stable condition too. He adds that his brother had one visitor in that time, and he believes he may have killed his brother, he asks if he has heard of a Silvio Manfredi. Daredevil looks to him and says he was just released from prison. He must be after his land what Fisk took from him. Potter cuts Daredevil loose he tells Daredevil that he wants to help, he needs to. Daredevil grabs the cuffs quickly and cuffs Potter to the rooftop, he ensures him that he will get the job done, but he can do it himself, he must do it himself, prove to everyone that he is no killer.

Manfredi walks out of his penthouse and into a limousine. It begins to drive off, all of a sudden, a metal stick hits the wheel of the car, keeping its still. Manfredi hears a loud bang on the roof. The driver is knocked out. The door beside Manfredi opens, Daredevil stands there and stares at him enraged. Manfredi laughs and tells him to turn around. Daredevil turns around to see 3 police cars lined up. Daredevil grabs Manfredi and throws him into a carpark as the police shoot at him. He kicks Manfredi into the control room before turning all the lights on the switchboard off. The 6 policemen come into the carpark and immediately turn their torches on. Suddenly from behind one of them Daredevil knocks two out. He then throws a stick at another knocking him out. The other three look to each other, one fires into the distance not hitting anything. Daredevil knocks him out with one punch, the other two just flee the scene. He goes to get back to Manfredi but he is not there. Manfredi had gone up the fire escape stairs. The door is jammed shut. Daredevil senses through vibrations that there is a way to climb up. Using some type of parkour he begins climbing to the top level of the building. Before he can get too far he is grabbed by Ammo and thrown to the ground. Ammo sees the bandages around his torso and begins to kick him there, as Daredevil did earlier he grabs Ammo’s leg and tries to sweep him to the ground it doesn’t work. Ammo lifts his other leg and tries to stomp Daredevil’s head, Daredevil moves his head and uses his legs to put Ammo in a heel hook, snapping his ankle. Ammo is on one knee and tries to stand up, Daredevil grabs his batons and begins to hit all of Ammo’s limbs, leading him to be on all fours. Daredevil then punt kicks his head, knocking him out. Daredevil begins his climb once more, more policemen show up and aim there guns up at him, the superior officer tells them to lower their weapons, they don’t want damage expenses. Manfredi is waiting at the top with a crowbar and as soon as Daredevil reaches the top he hits one of his hands, Daredevil is then hanging from the top with one hand. Manfredi takes time to gloat which allows for Daredevil to put his hand back on and climb over. Manfredi sees this however and hits him with the crowbar on his bandaged torso. Daredevil is hunched over, Manfredi gives him an uppercut with the crowbar leading to Daredevil being knocked to the ground. Manfredi says Daredevil would have been better off dead already instead of at his hands, he thought society would have done that for him. All he wants is to take back what is his. At that moment, Daredevil shatters Manfredi’s knee with a baton. Manfredi falls to the floor yelling in pain. Daredevil is about to strike again but the police reach the roof. Daredevil yells at Manfredi to tell them, tell them that he killed Jack Potter. Manfredi laughs. Daredevil shatter his other knee. With the police aiming guns at them they put their hands behind their heads. Manfredi tells them that he was the one to kill Jack not the Daredevil. He also tells him to tell them about Hobie Brown. Manfredi asks how he knows. Manfredi then says that Hobie Brown did not kill the officer two years ago, that to was him. One officer hits Manfredi across the face with his gun. Daredevil holds out his hands for arrest but the first policeman up tells him to go, he saved his son only a few weeks ago, he will give him this chance to flee. Daredevil lets out a feint smile and begins to hobble away, using the rope to go to another building.

A few weeks later: After Hobie Brown is freed, Hobie, Murdock, Foggy and Page share some drinks at the office. Hobie asks how they did it. Murdock tells him that the green substance he stole belonged to Norman Osborn himself, he says that the person that ‘found’ it and returned it to him was Roderick Kingsley. The same man that worked under Osborn many years ago. Starting his own million dollar business. Under his employ two years ago was Manfredi. He just joined the dots that was it. Hobie says he can’t thank him enough; Murdock just tells him to not fall back into that life of crime. Hobie tells him he might take after that Daredevil guy, Hobie laughs leading to the others laughing as well.
