Reaction: The premise is one that was hard to successfully market minus any major stars or famous source material. Our marketing department focused on the plot of the film, and it just didn't manage to garner enough interest in the audience.

"Clearly inspired by the Salem witch trials and works like Arthur Miller's The Crucible, this film just didn't give the audience someone to root for. The defacto hero, played by Joel Kinnaman, doesn't show up until nearly the halfway point of the film." - Jeremy Raren, RottenTomatoes.com

"Focusing on the women in town trying to get the wives of the men in town imprisoned to have them to themselves was a pretty clever twist in this film, and Haley Bennett does solid work as their ringleader." - Justin Rodriguez, Detroit Free Press

"Actors like Joel Kinnaman and Scoot McNairy are completely wasted in thankless roles, while the whole cast of characters are lacking in character development and motivation throughout the film." - Matt Carson, Arizona Republic
