Plot: Harry Mason (Matthew Fox) is walking toward the lakeside resort area when he hears a scream come from Annie's Bar. Harry pulls out his gun and runs into the bar where he finds Dr. Michael Kaufman (Lochlyn Munro) being attacked a some Grey Children. Harry shoots the monster, saving Michael. Michael is eager to leave the area and hurries off without thanking Harry for saving him. Harry then notices that in the struggle, Michael dropped a vial of red liquid on the floor. Harry guesses that it must be the Aglaophotis Michael had previously mentioned. Michael rushes back into the bar though and snatches the vial away from Harry. Harry tries to chase after Michael, but he disappears into the shadows.

Harry follows the road to the lake, meeting up again with Cybil Bennett (Katie Cassidy) along the way. As they make their way closer to the lake, they decide to split up to find Cheryl. Harry heads toward the lighthouse while Cybil goes toward the Lakeside Amusement Park. Along the way, Cybil is attacked by an unknown assailant. When Harry reaches the top of the lighthouse, he finds Alessa (Oona Laurence), who tells him to go to the amusement park.

When Harry enters the amusement park, he begins looking around for both Cheryl and Cybil. On the park's carousel, Harry finds Cybil. But she appears to be possessed by some sort of parasite that is controlling her like a puppet. She attacks Harry, who shoots her in the head with his gun, killing her. Alessa then appears before him. Harry pulls out the Flauros, which traps Alessa. Dahlia Gillespie (Ivana Milicevic) then appears, snidely revealing that she has used Harry's quest to find his daughter to get him to trap Alessa for her. Dahlia then reveals that Alessa is her daughter.

Harry soon finds himself back in the hospital. He finds Lisa Garland (Grace Van Dien). Lisa is bleeding from every orifice of her body while Harry watches on horrified. He runs into a room and locks the door. In the room, he finds Lisa's diary which reveals that she was the nurse who attended to Alessa following a bad fire. Harry witnesses flashes of a meeting between Dahlia and Michael Kaufman discussing Alessa's hospitalization and the rebirth of God himself. Harry further learns that Dahlia sacrified her daughter Alessa in a fire to her god. This is when Alessa split her soul in half to avoid Dahlia's god from being born. The good half of her soul manifested itself as Cheryl, which is why nobody could ever find any information on her family - she never had one.

After the revelations, Harry leaves the room to find Lisa crying as she continues to bleed from every orifice and every pore. She begs him to put her out of her misery. Harry takes a deep breath and shoots Lisa in the head. He covers her body with a gown and apologizes to her corpse.

On the shores of the lake, Cheryl (Quinn Copeland) wanders in a trance toward Dahlia and Alessa's real body, which is wrapped entirely in bandages. Cheryl and Alessa begin to reform together. Alessa's astral projection  - the Alessa that Harry has been encountering - watches nearby, unable to stop it.
