Reaction: Horror anthology films have never been a huge presence on the big screen and only a small amount of them have ever really made a dent at the box office (Twilight Zone: The Movie, Creepshow). So considering that, it is not a surprise that Midnight Tales failed to find an audience, even if it is disappointing.

"Midnight Tales felt like a nice throwback to the big screen horror anthology films of the 1980's. While the frame story wasn't particularly fresh or exciting, the individual stories themselves had some nice scares." - Dave Manning, Ridgefield Press

"Midnight Tales is too erratic and hit-and-miss to keep the audience's full attention. The quality between the stories varies wildly, frequently losing any momentum it builds up. If you're a devout horror anthology fan, you'll probably find something to enjoy, but it's going to have a hard time appealing to a mainstream audience." - Robert Avery, San Jose Mercury

"As LRF's first anthology horror movie, the tales get darker and more intense. But they don't totally shark a feeling of terror or dread like anthologies like the V/H/S series. But one thing it gets right over those, the wrap around is actually surprising." - Rosemary Lawe, Time Out

Rated R for violence and gore, frightening images and some language
