Plot: Buddy (Eric Stonestreet) says his party is a complete disaster and there’s nothing he can do about it. When Donald (Eugene Levy), off-camera, asks if he’s crying, Buddy runs away.
A couple of hours earlier, Buddy is cooking on the barbecue in the backyard of his home, explaining to Donald that his annual barbecue is sort of a GRL tradition and everyone looks forward to it. In the back, it doesn’t look like anyone is enjoying the party, they’re pretty much all on their cellphone. Julie (Maude Apatow) tells to the camera that no one really likes to come here, but it’d break Buddy’s heart if no one comes. He’s anxious because Sylvia hasn’t arrived and she’s the eldest GRL member, so she must be the first one to swing at the pinata. Donald surprises Timothy (Randy Havens) inside as he tries to break out of the house by the bathroom window. Randy looks at the camera and says that he doesn’t like to be bossed around by his mom at home, but it’s better than eating Buddy’s food. He overcooks everything and everything taste bad, at least his mom is a great cook. Sylvia finally arrives and blames her tardiness on her chauffeur. She’s clearly drunk and tells the camera that she downs at least two bottle of wines before coming here. Judge Ross (Crispin Glover) was also invited and is sitting at the end of the table, clearly not enjoying the small talk with Buddy.
Donald then tells Buddy that he looked forward to come here and he thought that it was an honor to be invited, but it turns out that everyone wants to leave. Buddy says it’s not true, but when he tries to find everyone, he realizes they’re all scheming to get out of here. Julie refutes the accusation, but Donald tells her she’s lying. Meanwhile, Judge Glover tries to sneak out while Buddy is distracted. Buddy has had enough and threatens to leave the league if everybody doesn’t sit down at the table and eat the burgers he cooked with love. Nobody react, except for Judge Ross who tells everyone with his grave voice and that they must all come or else all raced are cancelled. Buddy hugs him, saying he’s saving the party, but in front of the camera, Ross says that if Buddy pulls out, they aren’t enough to race and the league pays him an absurd amount of money to do practically nothing and he doesn’t want to lose that money. He hates this party as much as everybody.
Everyone is at the table on the patio and he asks if they like the party. They all say that it’s the same thing every year, but he says there are small changes this year. He invites Sylvia to swing at the pinata that is shaped after the defunct Marty. They all think it’s in bad taste, but it turns out that they all have fun swinging at Marty, the man they loathed for dominating the league. They all swing at it except for Julie who refuses to hit a representation of a man who taught her so much, which attracts suspicion from Judge Ross. In the end, the group plays games and all have fun, but once the party is over, they agree they’re not coming back next year, the hot dogs were uneatable.
