Plot: Sylvia (Catherine O’Hara) puts on a final touch of lipstick and smacks herself in the face. It’s show time. She comes out of the bathroom and her trusted chauffeur turns on the light as if there’s a show in her living room. It surprised Timothy (Randy Havens) who spills his drink all over his lap. Donald (Eugene Levy) focuses on Sylvia as she performs her awkward song-and-dance number to introduce her guests to her soirée. Julie (Maude Apatow) came with her boyfriend, Luke (Logan Riley Bruner) and Buddy is alone. Julie asks him if he’s single and he says that not only is he single, but they’re the only friends he has. Luke asks Julie why he hasn’t heard of him since he’s her friend and he needs to know all her male friends. Julie whispers that they can’t do this now, but he needs to calm down, he’s not even her friend. Sylvia’s dance is over and she welcomes them all to her Beau Jolie presentation. She plays a video explaining how the company works, as everyone sighs because they’ve all heard this already, they just came to be polite.
Once the video is over, Luke asks her how is this any different than any other MLM scheme and Sylvia takes offense to that, even though she doesn’t understand what he means. He explains her step by step what he means, even though Julie begs him to keep quiet, but it appears Luke gets off on showing off to people. Even with the explanation, Timothy says he’s interested in joining the extraordinary Beau Jolie family, any way to make money is good, if it helps provide your family. Buddy asks him what family he’s talking about and Timothy is offended, he knows it’s a sensitive subject for him. Luke adds that Timothy looks like he’s still living at home. Buddy asks her if that’s really who she wants to spend the rest of her life with and she agrees that Luke has crossed a line. She orders him to leave and when Buddy threatens him, he finally complies. She says she has never felt better and to celebrate, she accepts a transformation by Sylvia who is happy to her soirée appears to be a raging success, she has never seen so much interaction between the GRL members.
Sylvia, Buddy and Julie drink wine and use the Beau Jolie products on Julie while Timothy reads the brochure like it’s a page-turner. Julie looks absolutely ridiculous under all that makeup, but she just want to let herself go for one night and stop being so uptight all the time. Sylvia says it’s nice they’re all together, but she wishes Marty was still around. They all hated the man, but they were like one big family and it’s like the father is missing. Inspector Collins (Ben Schwartz) walks in and starts laughing. He says it’s ironic she says it like that. She may claim to hate the man, but how did she not expect him to find out that Sylvia and Marty used to be married
