Reaction: When we first saw the domestic box office numbers come in, we admittedly got quite worried. Thankfully the film did well enough in foreign territories for the film to make a little bit of money at the end of the day.

"Though I'd like a different/better director and more tense-filled stunts for hopeful sequels, Chris Pratt's a great choice as the driver. The film may feel like a pilot episode but it definitely makes me enjoyed to see more. Hugh Laurie's turn as KNIT exceeds beyond expectations." - Merle Eliassen, Film Journal International

"Knight Rider at a certain point relies almost entirely on Chris Pratt's ample charm for any small amount of enjoyment. The story is of the very predictable variety and the action scenes failed to deliver much excitement. Much like the Jurassic World films though, the overly serious story constantly tramples on Pratt's charisma. Dakota Johnson also feels completely wasted on an undeveloped and thankless role. A spy and his talking super-car should be a fun film, but this adaptation felt dreary and ho-hum instead." - Brenton Smalls, Playboy

"The concept of the film (and television series) has always been a lot of fun. This adaptation feels too serious for such a concept though, especially with star Chris Pratt clearly toning down the charm in order to not overshadow the fairly generic plot. Hugh Laurie's voice was a good choice as KITT, but I wish there would have been more banter between KITT and Pratt. All in all, Knight Rider was mostly enjoyable but fairly forgettable at the same time. If this one does well enough at the box office, I'd be interested to see a sequel - I just hope they let Pratt do his thing and make everything more fun."- Roger Taggart, Chicago Tribune

Rated PG-13 for violence, thematic material and language
