The Roundup with Jeff Stockton (Season 24 Round 3)

Two big hits at the box office and another Timothee Chalamet flop made up Round 3. Here's The Roundup....

3. Khumba the Flying Zebra
I didn't love Khumba, but I have to include it in my Top 3 for how well it did at the box office. Congrats, Jacob Jones.

2. The Flash #2
This Flash film makes much better use of the hero's powers than the first film did. It featured lots of smaller improvements like that to make it all a much more enjoyable film. It's definitely a bit more light-hearted than I generally enjoy, but it worked.

1. Box Office
This was a pretty great round at the box office despite Citizen's poor performance thanks to Khumba the Flying Zebra exceeding expectations and The Flash #2 surpassing the gross of its predecessor.

3. Khumba the Flying Zebra
The filmmakers are frankly lucky that the very confusing and overly complicated genetics explanation for Khumba's flying ability didn't derail the film completely. They lucked out that enough other things worked.

2. Citizen
I think Citizen was written fairly well. It might even be Rachel Hallett Hardcastle's best script so far. The casting was just atrocious though. You couldn't miscast Chalamet more if you actually tried.

1. Next Round
Round 4 is looking like it could be a really rough ride at the box office for LRF. Looking at the films (Police Story: Brother, Inner Demons, Her Dying Wish), I wouldn't be surprised if every film loses money. Fingers crossed for a surprise hit.
