Reaction: These are good numbers for pretty much any superhero movie, but even better for a female-led superhero film, which historically have failed to match other superhero films at the box office (outside of films like Wonder Woman and Supergirl).

"Birds of Prey doesn't try to do too much in the story-telling department. It pushes the pace constantly to take the audience from one exciting action sequence to another. There isn't much character development in the script from APJ and Jimmy Ellis, but it still worked." - Dave Cone, New York Post

"Birds of Prey is a nice showcase for the female heroes of LRF's DC Comics Universe. The film wisely avoids any rah-rah girl-power messaging and instead just delivers a fast-paced action films that just happens to star women." - Tom Lane, Detroit News

"While not as good as Margot Robbie's [in-name only] venture but leagues above the 2000s TV show failure, Ellis' & APJ's take on the team is entertaining and something I'd love to see more of in the future. Note that there isn't a whole lot of character development but you are so used to these characters from previous movies you find yourself easier to go along with it. Overall, it leaves me wondering what's next for each character in future films which should always be a key goal at this point." - Beau Sharpe, CinemaBlend

Rated PG-13 for sequences of intense superhero action
