Reaction: Yes, Run is a box office failure, but at least it didn't lose the kind of money that previous Wesley Campbell-penned films like Bone and Saga lost. This film flopping also continues the recent Novel Adaptation Curse.

"This to me is the definition of an ‘almost’ film. It almost gets everything right. Carey Mulligan proves herself in a big role, Chris Evans and Tom Hiddleston are great and the story can grip you at parts. But it’s far too long and could’ve been cut back in certain areas. It could still be a contender, but a movie like this should have been a surefire GRA nominee." - Mitchell Parker - New York Times

"There is no reason for a Horror/Thriller film to be as long and slow as Run is. The plot by its very nature supplies the story with an automatic sense of urgency, arguably the most crucial element in a thriller. The filmmakers then completely throw that sense down the garbage disposal, grinding the film to a halt repeatedly. Run features some good performances from its starring cast, but the film doesn't focus on them enough." - Dave Manning, Ridgefield Press

"Parts of Run work well. It has some amazing individual scenes, but it is not very well constructed as a whole. It feels paced more like a novel than a film, with a long running time that makes it feel as long as the actual novel's audiobook version. This film is full of unnecessary details and scenes that go nowhere. If it had focused more tightly on its trio of stars (and cut about an hour or so out of its running time), it could have all worked as there are some good pieces in there, but it doesn't focus on anything enough." - Frank Estelle, Boca Breeze

Rated R for strong violence, language and some sexual content
