Plot: After driving for what felt like hours, Flynn (Mads Mikkelsen) and Charlie (Storm Reid) stop near a city border. Everything is abandoned and destroyed, only animals and mutants roam the area, Flynn looks up to a broken street light. He notices a green torn flag attached to it, he thinks to himself, he’s been here before. Charlie asks what’s going on, right as she looks behind, Flynn passes the city border. The city is abandoned but looks safe enough to travel in, Flynn checks the gas and it’s almost out. Charlie looks at a destroyed building nearby and questions herself, Flynn parks the bike near a broken-down gas station.
Luckily there’s a gas canister he can use, he writes down for Charlie to stay as he goes to pick it up. Charlie nods as he walks into the station, she hums to herself as birds fly around a dead carcass nearby. Being the young person she is, Charlie walks up and investigates the body. After shooing the birds away, she investigates the carcass, grabbing a nearby stick to poke it. She’s stunned once a gas canister explodes near her, she falls back as hooded figures with spears corner her.
It’s a tribe of cannibals, their leader (Tom Payne) walks closer to Charlie, and he slices her cheek causing her to cry in pain. He turns back and gives the signal for everyone else to take her, right as his pawns grab her, Flynn shoots an arrow into one’s eye. He tackles one into a broken car and slashes the other, the leader has been knocked away as Flynn massacres his group. Charlie arches as the leader have no choice but to flee, Flynn makes eye contact with him as he cleans his machete. Flynn lets out one gasp of air before walking toward Charlie. She’s speechless as he writes something in his notebook, he shows her what he wrote. Are you okay?
