Flynn (Mads Mikkelsen) wakes to the sound of a fire being lit, he cautiously moves feeling pain coming from his waist. He looks around and finds Charlie (Storm Reid) chomping down on bread she found in his bay, he looks at her with a blank stare. Charlie tells him she found bandages and worked with the stuff she knew, Flynn looks around, as Charlie assures him his stuff is safe.
She tells him she used a portion of the bikes gas to make a fire, before almost crashing several times with him in the guest seat. He looks over and grabs his jacket, after putting it on he looks out, Charlie finishes her bread and tells him they’re next to a cave. They’ll sleep there for the night. Flynn rubs his hands near the first and watches the flame. Wanting to start a decent conversation, Charlie reveals her dad taught her all the things on how to survive in a post apocalyptic mutant infested world.
The day she turned 19 was the day she was abandoned by him, ever since then she wandered the earth with random stragglers. Flynn nods giving no response, Charlie turns her head, asking why he doesn’t speak. He raises his brow and leaves her with a smile, Charlie scoffs and offers him some bread. Flynn continues to look at her wondering to himself where it all went wrong, why is he bonding with someone he doesn’t even know, why did he help a girl that he could’ve easily killed the moment they met. Charlie tells him she’s heading to bed. After leaving Flynn by his lonesome, she holds her knife tight and dozes off. He slowly moves near a boulder, crossing his arms he immediately falls asleep. While distant growls can be heard near the mountains they’re on.
