X-Men: Sinister: We learned at the LRF Comic-Con that Garrett Hedlund (Gambit: District X, The Devil's Revenge) would have a major role as Gambit in the latest X-Men film. Also officially signing onto this third X-Men film are familiar faces David Oyelowo (X-Men, Mass Effect: First Contact), Millie Bobby Brown (X-Men: The Cure, The Powerpuff Girls), Rebecca Ferguson (The House of Romanov, X-Men: The Cure) and Diana Silvers (Gambit and Rogue, X-Men: The Cure). Alex Garland once again directs the Marvel Universe film from a script by Dwight Gallo.
Queen Margot: Olivia Colman (Suzanne, Days Without End), Lily Collins (The Brilliant Friend, Misfit), James Norton (The Sandman, Rogue Agent), Bradley Whitford (Haven, Superman: The Man of Tomorrow) and Patrick Gibson (Tolkien, Their Finest) have joined director Chloe Zhao's star-studded historical epic, Queen Margot. Jack Slipter penned the film's script.
Run: Dafne Keen (The Troop, Ana), Roger Dale Floyd ("Best Foot Forward", Greenland) and Antony Starr (Blue Ridge, Excellent Women) have signed on to the thriller Run, from director Garth Davis and writer Wesley Campbell. Keen and Floyd will play the children of the characters played by Carey Mulligan and Chris Evans, while Starr will play a man running a compound to protect people from a violent uprising. The film is based on the novel by Blake Crouch.
Akin: Speaking of novel adaptations, Michael Douglas (The Oil Slick, Hunter) will headline an adaptation of the novel Akin by Emma Donoghue. He will play a recently retired professor whose wife is thrown into chaos when he takes his great-nephew to the French Riviera. Roman Griffin Davis (Police Story: Brother, Northrock) has been cast as said great-newphew. Vincent Cassel (Germinal, Blackbird) will play Davis' deadbeat father. Joanna Hogg (Exhibition, The Souvenir) is directing the film from an adaptation by rookie writer Abbie Q. Filmmaker Jane Campion (Bright Star, The Power of the Dog) will be lending her services to the production as a producer.
Monaco: Oscar Isaac (One Day More, Coma), Michael Fassbender (Odysseus - Part Two, Recursion), Jude Law (Antarctica, Outlaw Country) and Rachel Weisz (Odysseus - Part Two, Prodigy) are set to headline the all-star racing film, Monaco, from director Martin Scorsese (The Betrothed, Sinatra) and writer Chad Taylor (Booster Gold: Back in Time, Broadway).
Daredevil: Sam Heughan (Elektra, Lock Every Door) is set to reprise his role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil from Elektra in a film of his very own. In Daredevil, he will be trying to protect Hell's Kitchen from an old school mobster trying to take over the territory. Armand Assante (Police Story: Case Closed, The Match) has been cast as said gangster, while Luke Hemsworth ("Westworld", Crypto) will also join the film as a man with a vendetta against Daredevil. Justin Kurzel (Assassin's Creed, Nitram) has signed on to direct the Marvel Universe film from a script by Jimmy Ellis (Silver Sable, Grayson).
