Inside Oakwood Elementary, something exciting is brewing with Gabi (Alejandra), Matthew (Roger Dale Floyd) and DJ (Brayden Newbern). The three are pretending to be scientists, doing experiments on the Barney plush doll. When Barney (Dean Wendt) comes to life, he learns that it’s because today, Ms. Lloyd (Erica Rhodes) is going to be doing several science experiments. Barney is excited because there’s a lot of things he’s always wanted to know!

The bell rings and the kids all make their way to Ms. Lloyd’s class and prepare themselves for the experiments they’re about to do, making sure to wear safety goggles and gloves so they won’t get hurt. For their first experiment, they’ll be showcasing what things float and sink. Things that float are less dense than water floats (such as a pen) and things that are more sense sink (like a rubber ball). Seeing the ball in action reminds Barney of some other things you can do with a ball.

Later on, Pablo (Ravi Cabot-Conyers) arrives with a piece of paper and paint, wanting to make a picture and needing help with the colors. This brings them to the next experiment, mixing colors! Red and yellow make orange, blue and yellow equal green and blue and red give you purple. Pablo thanks everyone for the help and rushes off to work on his painting.

For the last science experiment, Ms. Lloyd is going to explore sizes. DJ is the smallest while Barney is the biggest. Matthew remembers when he was the smallest of his class, but not anymore. Especially since he’s been growing! But Barney says that it doesn’t matter what size you are, because everyone is special in their own way!

With their experiments complete, Pablo calls for everyone to come outside. The gang head outside, including a near sighting of Barney from Mr. Roberts (Robert Sweatmon). Once outside, the gang finds that Pablo has finished his picture and has included all his friends, because he loves them all, especially Barney.
