Reaction: A rare box office failure for star Leonardo DiCaprio. The film was very expensive for a film just in the Drama genre, and when that was combined with the fact that it is a genre that doesn't translate as well to foreign audiences as something more genre-oriented it simply couldn't make enough money to break even.

"The plot definitely meanders more than it should, and even writer Jacob Jones has admitted that it was longer than he intended. It's a bit of a chore to get through, but the performances from DiCaprio, Hoffman, Seyfried and Wilson are all top-notch - which helped make up for some of the story-telling deficiencies." - Adam Carpenter, St. Louis Post-Disbatch

"Sure, the film was too long, but that wasn't it's biggest problem. Despite a bunch of strong performances from the cast, I simply did not care about their outcome or who would end up as the host of the late night show as none of the characters are particularly likable enough to get me to root for their journey. The lack of someone to cheer on made it all a bit duller than it should have been." - Dave Manning, Ridgefield Press

"E.P. is a good film that had the potential to be great. Some of the characters felt pointless to the story and did nothing but slow everything down when they appeared. People came to see this one for the names on the poster, not the other actors/actresses involved. E.P. also failed to stick the ending, leaving me a bit disappointed that an interesting film ended on an uninteresting note." - Josh Manning, NY Daily News

Rated R for language and thematic material
